What to Expect

  • Dubai Frame is a 150-metre-tall structure in Zabeel Park shaped like a giant picture frame, with two towers connected at the top by a glass-floored Sky Deck.
  • It holds the Guinness World Record for the largest building built in the shape of a picture frame, and it looks out over both the old and new districts of the city.
  • The visit starts at ground level in the Dubai Past Gallery, where multimedia displays and exhibits trace the city's growth from a small fishing village into its present-day skyline. A glass elevator then carries you up to the Sky Deck in about 75 seconds, where floor-to-ceiling views open out on both sides, modern Dubai on one side and the older neighbourhoods of Karama, Bur Dubai, Deira and Umm Hurair on the other.
  • A glass walkway across the deck gives you a clear view down to the ground below, and interactive projectors let you draw or write something that then appears on a nearby screen. On the way down, the Dubai Future Gallery closes the visit with a look at how planners imagine Dubai fifty years from now.
